AALAC Has Talent Search for Children to be Featured in Major Billboard Campaign To Increase Voter Engagement
Atlanta, Georgia – On Saturday, August 25th between 2:00 to 5:00 pm, the Asian American Legal Advocacy Center (AALAC) will have a casting call and photo shoot for its “Vote For Our Future” voter engagement campaign in Duluth, GA. The talent search is for Asian American children to be featured on two large billboard ads on Highway 85 in Gwinnett County from September 24 through October 21st..
The advertisement is designed to raise awareness in the Asian American community about the importance of voting during the November 6th 2012 Presidential Election. “The future of our children’s future and their ability to become leaders in this society, are in our hands,” said Helen Ho, AALAC’s Executive Director. “We must set an example of what it means to give back by exercising our vote.”
“Issues including college admissions, the HOPE scholarship, jobs, better immigration and healthcare laws are all shaped through our votes,” said Cindy Howe, AALAC’s Campaign Director for Civic Engagement and Voter Registration. The goal of AALAC’s “Vote For Our Future” campaign is to increase the number of Asian American and immigrant voters in Georgia.
AALAC is searching for the “faces” of our campaign. We are looking for children between the ages of 3-18 years old, of all Asian ethnic backgrounds to be featured on a prominent billboard advertisement along I-85.
